Local stations gouge a bit more

“Hanna” has dropped to a tropical storm, but she’s started to sprinkle some rain — and that’s good enough for two observed stations to up their gas prices. The BP station across from Shaw AFB and the Carolina Petro station one block down the road each gouged +2¢ for a gallon of regular sometime after 6:45am.

Carolina Petro recently offered 6¢ discount on premium but the sale ended today. Mathematically speaking, their premium went up +8¢.

Tropical storm Hanna might not be the only reason for this gouging. Shaw AFB will hold an air show tomorrow and the gas stations might just want to extract a few more pennies per gallon from the visitors…
